Why SkyTeam can be tricky (and rewarding)

Finding space: calendars and married segments

AF/KLM calendars are powerful for scanning months quickly. If you don’t see nonstops, try married segment logic—adding a connection can reveal availability that doesn’t appear on nonstops.

Transfer partners and timing

Flying Blue: Partners with Amex, Chase, Citi, Capital One; transfers are typically fast (often instant) which reduces risk.
Delta: Transfer from Amex MR; dynamic awards can still work during SkyMiles “sales.”

Rule of thumb: Only transfer after you’ve validated the seats you want to book.
